Vanmiddag een familiefilmpje gezien. Oom Karel
niets vermoedend roeiend in een bootje bij
Loosdrecht.
Drie weken later was hij verdwenen, niet meer
vatbaar voor celluloid.
Hoe goed zou het zijn een filmpje van zijn sterven te
bezitten
als operateur zijn laatste adem af te draaien
vertraagd het stollen van zijn blik, het vallen van
die hand
langs de ijzeren bedkant nog eens en nog eens te
vertonen.
Of op topsnelheid, zodat het doodgaan van Oom Karel
iets vrolijks krijgt, een uitgelaten dans op een
krakend bed,
de omhelzing van een onzichtbare vrouw
die teruggedraaid hem wakker kust; de ogen
worden weer blik, kijken in de lens, de hand wijst.
Oom Karel leeft, Oom Karel is dood.
