Deze maand verschijnt de midprice-editie van Bericht uit Berlijn van Otto de Kat (de hardcovereditie blijft voorlopig gewoon leverbaar). Het boek kreeg lovende kritieken in de landelijke pers en werd eerder al vijf keer herdrukt. NRC Handelsblad schreef: ‘Het type boek dat niet gemakkelijk een bestseller wordt, maar uiteindelijk veel bestsellers zal overleven… Lees!’
Na de Duitse vertaling verscheen inmiddels ook de Engelse editie. News from Berlin werd enthousiast onthaald. De Daily Mail schreef: ‘Otto de Kat’s slim, concise volume is a masterclass in how less can be more, packed full of atmosphere, emotion and philosophical debate.’
Volgens Scotland on Sunday biedt de roman voldoende materiaal voor een twaalfdelige televieserie. ‘De Kat is a master of the impressionistic literary brushstroke’ en ‘De Kat can break your heart in 200 words’.
